My Approach to Personal Growth Counselling

I believe meaningful growth begins with understanding rather than judgment.


Many people try to change by criticizing themselves, pushing harder, or focusing only on what they believe needs to be improved. While motivation can be helpful, lasting change often comes from developing a stronger, more compassionate relationship with yourself.


Together, we'll explore questions such as:


  • What parts of yourself are you wanting to understand better?
  • What patterns are you ready to change?
  • What emotions or needs have been difficult to acknowledge?
  • What experiences have shaped the way you see yourself?
  • What kind of person and life do you want to create?
  • What is getting in the way of living more authentically?


My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and the belief that growth happens when we create enough safety to be honest with ourselves.

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Personal Growth

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) is an evidence-based, attachment-informed approach that helps people understand their emotions, relationships, and sense of self.


EFIT recognizes that our emotional patterns are shaped through our experiences and relationships. The ways we think, feel, and respond today often developed as ways of protecting ourselves or meeting important needs.


Through EFIT, we explore the deeper emotions and beliefs that influence how you relate to yourself and others. For example:


  • Self-criticism may be connected to old experiences of not feeling good enough.
  • Difficulty expressing needs may be connected to past experiences of rejection or disappointment.
  • Feeling stuck may be connected to protective patterns that once helped you cope.


By developing a more secure relationship with yourself, you can create greater emotional freedom and make choices that are more aligned with who you truly are.
