Finding Your Way Forward

Trauma can change the way you experience yourself, your relationships, and the world around you.

Healing isn't about forgetting what happened. It's about helping your nervous system feel safe again, making sense of your experiences, and reclaiming the parts of yourself that may have become hidden through survival.

My Approach to Trauma Counselling

I believe healing begins with safety. Rather than asking you to revisit painful memories before you're ready, we first focus on creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel understood, respected, and emotionally safe.


From there, we'll work together to better understand your experiences and the ways they've shaped your emotions, relationships, and nervous system.


Together, we may explore questions such as:


  • How has your past influenced the way you experience yourself today?
  • What protective strategies has your nervous system developed?
  • What emotions have become difficult to experience?
  • What helps you feel safe?
  • What would healing look like for you?


My goal isn't to rush your healing. It's to support you in moving toward greater emotional freedom at a pace that feels manageable.

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy for Trauma

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy is an evidence-based, attachment-informed approach that helps people reconnect with emotions that may have become difficult to process following painful or overwhelming experiences. Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, EFIT helps uncover the deeper emotional needs and attachment injuries that continue to shape your present life. 


As you develop a more secure relationship with yourself and experience your emotions in new ways, deeper growth and healing becomes possible.

Who Trauma Counselling Is For

Trauma counselling may be helpful if you:


  • Have experienced abuse, neglect, or violence.
  • Grew up in a home that felt unpredictable or emotionally unsafe.
  • Feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, shame, or emotional numbness.
  • Have difficulty trusting others or maintaining close relationships.
